About the role

West Wits Mining is seeking a reliable and hardworking GENERAL WORKER ASSISTANT to join our mining operations team. The successful candidate will assist with general labour duties, support various labour departments and ensure work areas are clean, safe and well-maintained. This role is vital to maintain efficient operations and upholding safety and productivity standards on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the technical team and other personnel with daily tasks and general duties.
  • Perform
  • housekeeping to maintain clean and safe work areas.
  • Load, offload and move materials, tools and equipment as required.
  • Support maintenance and operational teams during shutdowns or breakdowns.
  • Follow safety protocols and report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Assist in the setup and dismantling of equipment or work areas.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Requirements

  • Grade 12.
  • Previous experience as an Assistant in a mining or industrial environment.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual labour tasks.
  • Basic understanding of mine safety practices.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends and overtime when required.
  • South African citizenship
